Public Transport
Keen Teens! 12-14 years old
Once young people begin high school they may need to use public transport to travel further distances to get to and from school and other recreational activities. They will become more independent and possibly more reliant on buses trains, trams and ferries to get around. It is recommended that you plan their trips together and have them call or text you when they arrive at their destination.
It is worthwhile having a contingency plan in case of a `mishap' such as missing the bus or losing their way. If possible give your young person a mobile phone or encourage them to use 1800 REVERSE.
