Services
The Playground Advisory Unit (PAU) is a principal agency which provides impartial technical, design and safety information services to all groups across NSW. These services include:
Workshops
One day Inspection and Maintenance workshops can be tailored to individual group needs such as children's services, local government and schools etc.
The workshops comprise:
- Examination of compliance and maintenance issues according to Australian Playground Safety Standards
- Information packages
- Practical assessments of playgrounds

On-Site Inspection Services
- One hour verbal consultation providing information on safety and design issues to assist groups with upgrades
- Comprehensive Playground Inspection with report and checklists. Complimentary Resource Directory is provided.
Review of Plans Service

Review of playground plans produced by other agencies with report and checklists. Complimentary Resource Directory is provided.
The PAU provides a range of other services including:
- Technical advisory and information service on all aspects of playground safety and development
- Fact Sheets and publications to assist in the development of safe, creative playgrounds
- Assist groups to interpret the playground safety standards
- Design, construction and maintenance advice for safe and creative play areas
- Tours of the demonstration playspace located at Kidsafe House
