Book a Play Space Tour
Play space Tours
Play is vital for the development of children. They develop
physically, socially and emotionally through play. Children’s play
encompasses four basic types – active, passive, creative and social.
The best playground or play area accommodates areas which allow those
types of play. These areas are true play environments or play spaces.
The Kidsafe play space is a demonstration of a best practice play
space. It displays a variety of undersurfacing eg, organic mulch and
synthetic products, as well as exploratory play areas including a dry
creek bed and sandpit and examples of social, active, passive play
areas such as a timber platform, fixed equipment and cubby area. It
also displays suitable options for plants and shade structures.

The play space is a demonstration children’s play area located at
Kidsafe House. There are a number of ways to visit the Kidsafe Playspace, these
include self-guided and guided tours.
Guided Tours
Guided group tours can be organised for playgroups, professionals,
students or organisations and are by appointment only.
Consider a guided tour for an update on safe practices for playgrounds
and / or play areas, such as your backyard.
Please ring Kidsafe NSW on (02) 9845 0890 to make an appointment.
Number of attendees: Guided tours are run for a minimum of 6 people.
The preferred maximum number of people per group is 10 people. This

safety attributes and other issues. If there are more people in your
group, consider multiple bookings on the same day and a rotation with
a visit to the coffee shop nearby or the house tour.
