The ACCC have recalled the SlumberTrek Australia Pty Ltd—Flashlight supplied in Kids Explorer Packs Sold at BIG W Stores due to a potential overheating hazard.

The SlumberTrek Australia Pty Ltd—Flashlight supplied in Kids Explorer Packs Sold at BIG W Stores from January 2012 to December 2014 in various colours has been recalled. Explorer Packs contained flashlight, tent, sleeping bag and carry case. Please be aware that only the flashlight is being recalled.

The defect is that the battery terminals of flashlight could short circuit which may cause the batteries to overheat which presents as a burning hazard to children or users.

The item was sold nationally through Big W stores.

Consumers should cease using the flashlight immediately and contact SlumberTrek for a refund in the sum of $5. Customers seeking a refund should contact SlumberTrek on telephone (03) 9897 0700 or email at with proof of purchase or image of flashlight to obtain refund.
