Product Safety Australia have recalled the Vicinity Centres—7060 Night Lights – Cat, Sheep, Whale & Wombat (Night Lights) due to the potential of children accessing the button battery inside the night light.

The Vicinity Centres—7060 Night Lights – Cat, Sheep, Whale & Wombat are night lights with interchangeable LED colours and button batteries with casing. The size of the button battery is approximately 7mm.

The product was given out as a free gift prior to Christmas 2015 at 51 Vicinity Centres shopping centres from the 16th of November to the 7th of December 2015.

The defect is that there is a risk that the button batteries inside the toy may be accessible to children.

The hazard is that if young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death. In addition, the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children.

Consumers should either return the toy to centre management at one of the shopping centres specified or safely dispose of the toys.
