Dog safety

Animals, particularly dogs can provide wonderful experiences for children. Children can come into contact with dogs within their family, at friend’s or relative’s places, or in parks and recreation areas. 

Easter garden safety

Do your children love to hunt for eggs and other treats left for them by the Easter Bunny? 

Showbag safety

Are you heading out to the Sydney Royal Easter Show or your local agricultural show this year? Showbags can provide entertainment for children of all ages. Be sure to check the contents of all showbags for button batteries. 

Bunk bed safety

Bunk beds can cause serious injury and death if there are entrapment hazards, damaged or missing guard rails or no safe access to the floor. Injuries can happen when children use bunk beds for play or if they are located near potential hazards like windows or ceiling fans. Falls are the most common source of injury and can be fatal 

Change your clocks and smoke alarm batteries

Daylight Savings time ends Sunday 1 April 2018. Check smoke alarms when you change the clock! 

New window laws for strata

A new law which started on 13 March 2018 requires all strata buildings to ensure that windows above ground floor do not open more than 12.5 cm. The property owner is responsible for providing window safety devices for rooms above the ground floor.
