Cubby Houses in Playgrounds

A cubby house is a valuable addition to a playground. It is defined as an enclosed or semi-enclosed area which allows for a variety of play opportunities crucial for children’s intellectual, fine and gross motor skills and social development. Play in a cubby house also provides personal space, is a space to share and take turns and a place to talk, play, write, eat and read.
