Poisoning Prevention
Every year thousands of children need medical care for poisoning from products commonly found in and around the home. Most accidental poisonings occur to children younger than five, with children aged one to three most at risk. The Poisons Information Centre receives many phone calls from concerned parents or carers of young children.

The NSW Poisons Information Centre provides the latest poisons information to the public, and toxicology advice to health professionals on the management of poisoned and envenomed patients. Telephone advice is available 24/7 on 131126 from anywhere in Australia. Our centre also liases with poison centres from around Australia and the world in maintaining education, training and toxicovigilance.
