The Unconventional Oven

In December 2015, Kidsafe and celebrity chef, Matt Moran teamed up to demonstrate the Unconventional Oven (a family car) at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach.

Two sides of lamb were placed in a car- one on the dashboard and the other on the centre console. The lamb was left in the car for a few hours and the interior of the car reached temperatures of 83 degrees Celsius.

This demonstration was to alert parents and carers to how quickly the interior of a car heats up.
