Kidsafe NSW promotes child injury prevention and education in an effort to preserve and protect the lives of our children.

The Team

Christine Erskine - Executive Officer Christine Erskine—Executive Officer. Christine has qualifications in adult and community education. Prior to taking up her position in January 2008, she managed a range of programs across NSW aimed at providing education and training opportunities to a diverse range of clients including isolated parents, youth at risk, vocational childcare and office administration students. She has been involved in public health advocacy and community health campaigns.

Vicki Milne—Project Officer, Road Safety. With qualifications in education, Vicki has worked for many years in the public sector across a range of portfolios including administration, management and public education. Vicki’s main area of focus is providing information to parents and carers on correct choice and usage of child restraints in vehicles. 
Stacie Powell - Project Officer, Road Safety.  Stacie has been advocating for better health outcomes in vulnerable groups since 2000, specifically in child injury prevention for the past three years.  She holds a Master of Public Health and many years of experience in grief and crisis counselling.  Her great passion is reducing health inequalities through prevention and education.  Stacie is grateful for exceptional colleagues and to be a part of the important work of Kidsafe NSW.

Belinda Aussel—Administration Assistant. Belinda has worked in a range of administrative roles in private and government organisations. She prides herself in customer service and is dedicated to assist in the prevention of unintentional death and serious injury to children.

VIP Vicky Paranomos—Volunteer. Vicky has been a volunteer at Kidsafe NSW for over 10 years and is a valuable asset particularly when assisting with the annual Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expo and mail outs. 
Kidsafe NSW Playground Advisory Unit Team
The Playground Advisory Unit at Kidsafe NSW offers a range of services such as; delivery of accredited playground inspection courses, customised workshops, inspection services including; comprehensive annual and post installation inspections, as desktop review of plans and playground design and playground standards advice. 

Kim Cooke - Manager. Kim has had involvement in the design and development of outdoor play spaces with a specific interest in creating opportunities for mindfulness for children, through the use of exploration in natural play spaces. Kim has extensive experience in Local Government across all Education and Care Service types, and is enthusiastic about the provision of exciting, safe and challenging environments for children. Kim is motivated to continue nurturing valuable partnerships with the community and play space stakeholders, together create amazing and safe play spaces for children and young people. 

Shawn Little - Project Officer.  Shawn is a Landscape Architect with an interest in biophilic design and free public domain. With experience in private design practice and local government, Shawn brings a wealth of experience in the development of focused spaces for children and young people. Shawn is committed to the importance of play in every child’s life and of creating freely accessible, caring, engaging and active places for everyone. As a project officer with Kidsafe, Shawn is invested in improving the quality and access to children’s play environments and supporting playground designers, owners and operators. 

Kay Lockhart - Project Officer Kay Lockhart— Training and Education Manager. Kay’s primary focus is in play, risk benefit play and natural elements in playspaces. Kay has developed a particular interest in labyrinths and the value of the inclusion of a labyrinth in a playspace. Kay has an early childhood background having worked in and managed long day care and OOSH services. Kay is committed to the education, safety and wellbeing of children.
