We are looking for dynamic, experienced and collaborative Council Members whose values align with Kidsafe NSW’s mission to work with communities to prevent unintentional child injury and to create safe, fun environments for children to grow and develop.

The Board is seeking Directors with expertise in any, but not exclusive, of the following: - health promotion, product safety, business development, governance, education, marketing and fundraising.

Appointment would be for an initial term of three years.

These are non-remunerated voluntary positions requiring:

* strong understanding of governance and the role and responsibilities of a board director, ideally gained through AICD qualifications and/or previous Board experience

* the ability to understand and critically assess strategic plans, risk management plans, budgets and financial reports

* strong communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to operate collaboratively in a team environment

* personal qualities of integrity, professionalism, and a strong desire to make a difference to child accident injury prevention

Directors are required to participate (either face-to-face, or by teleconference) in 6 council meetings, usually held 4-6pm on the 2nd Wednesday of alternate months. In addition, Directors are expected to participate in sub-committees and other Kidsafe NSW activities.

Kidsafe NSW will provide support, induction and training for new Council Members, and will arrange and meet the cost of necessary accommodation, travel and associated expenses for Directors to attend meetings and other approved business.
